A Christian and Māori Worldview - Informed Approach to Student Flourishment
Our Christian faith is based on flourishment informed by our relationship with God. Māori also conceptualise flourishment relationally. I propose to present a way of thinking about flourishment that incorporates relationships with God, the natural environment and each other found in Māori culture. Based on biblical values, and through the lens of Māori relations, I propose an articulation of identity, our colonial history and aspirations for flourishment in our schools that unites us as New Zealanders, Māori and non-Māori, to uphold Te Tiriti and most importantly, Te Rongopai (The Gospel) in the classroom and our school communities.

Trump, Ukraine, trade wars, A.I. robotics, climate change, political polemics... Is it the end of the world? The Book of Revelation, 'End Times' and the Biblical Eschaton are often taught with either 'doomsday' rhetoric, ambivalent dismissal or usually, not at all. Dragons, harlots, falling stars, pale horses, flying scorpions, scrolls, bowls and dead lambs understandably cloud the issue. So how can we make sense of it all? What does it mean for our walk as disciples of Jesus? Come and get some pointers to help unravel the mystery & distinguish the clear signposts from the mist.
